Priorities - Quiz and Author's Insights
A quiz to get you digging into the Bible, and the author shares her thoughts about the story.
Hi readers! Today is the day when we post the quiz and the author’s/creator’s insights for the metaphor for the week - which for this week is a story called Priorities, written by Laura Dornon.
The quiz below is written in such a way as to possibly provoke you in three different ways: 1) to get you to read the Bible if you don’t know the references, 2) to affirm your Bible knowledge if you do know the references, and/or 3) to get you reading closely.

Author’s Insights
This is a quick sketch I wrote up in the middle of a chaotic-feeling day raising my kiddos. I gave them a snack and came into the other room seeking peace. I started writing how I felt and then thought of the most peaceful thing I could while a few Bible verses played over in my head. I have been pretty overwhelmed the last month or so as we have adjusted to the non-rhythm rhythm of summer. It has been a weird case of feeling completely overwhelmed and fighting to stay on top of things but also working to give myself a lot of grace because as a friend told me recently that we [parents] are growing up, too. This short stress-relieving piece was just an outpouring of the desire of the peace– true peace that only God can really give us. (For complete honesty, we did not actually drive to go see fireflies… even though i wanted to.) Even when the house is clean and the list is all checked off, we are still so human and will still feel that pull of desire for something else. That need can really only be filled by Christ.
About the Author
Laura Dornon writes odds and ends and some poetry, almost entirely for herself (and to process life and decompress at the end of the day). She is discovering the beauty of the fact that growing up doesn't stop when you graduate and that God, by his grace, keeps working in us and refining who we are. She has had a handful of jobs, her most current being full time mom and homemaker. She and her husband and three kids live in Michigan.
