Glimpses - Quiz and Author's Insights
A quiz to get you digging into the Bible, and the author shares her thoughts about the poem.
Hi readers! Today is the day when we post the quiz and the author’s/creator’s insights for the metaphor for the week - which for this week is a poem called Glimpses, written by Laura Dornon.
The quiz below is written in such a way as to possibly provoke you in three different ways: 1) to get you to read the Bible if you don’t know the references, 2) to affirm your Bible knowledge if you do know the references, and/or 3) to get you reading closely.

Author’s Insights
This poem kind of erupted out of me at midnight one night. We had a magnificent rain storm two days before that had me crying basically the whole time. We had been without rain for weeks and I’d been on a bit of an odd emotional journey for almost that whole time. When this rain storm hit, it just felt like such an explosion of beauty, the storm, the clouds rolling over, the sun forcing its way through when it was done… it was all so absolutely breath-taking. I actually was driving to the grocery store at the time and made myself pull over and park one or two times to just soak it in. It was one of those moments that felt like if I missed it, I would regret it.
I didn’t write this in the moment, but a day or two after when I was still very moved by the storm and the beauty of the infinite creativity of God. Not to mention his power.
About the Author
Laura Dornon writes odds and ends and some poetry, almost entirely for herself (and to process life and decompress at the end of the day). She is discovering the beauty of the fact that growing up doesn't stop when you graduate and that God, by his grace, keeps working in us and refining who we are. She has had a handful of jobs, her most current being full time mom and homemaker. She and her husband and three kids live in Michigan.
